The people have no money, yet there's a large market for the banana that costs ten times more than other banana.

I didn't think one would need an MBA to understand this.

It just makes sense. I don't know why you can't see that. It's obvious.

They  certainly can, the mystery is why Lakitan is preferred so much that people with no money are willing to pay 10 times more for it.

Time to get out and take a survey in the market, because you aren't going to get an answer here that will satisfy your curiosity.

Yeah clearly nobody can make any sense of it here, maybe the locals just have an irrational bias against the green color.

Bought some bananas this morning. Export quality highland Sweetio bananas from the Dole plantations on Mindanao. Mostly they get shipped to Japan but we got some.

Buying them was fairly straight-forward. We gave them money and they gave us the bananas. Somewhat surprisingly there was no debate, discussion, or disagreement surrounding this transaction.

Tastes nicer, costs less?   Sounds like another win for the buyer, another loss for the seller.

Or.....you could look at it as a win win , the seller has achieved asking price and the buyer is happy with that price .....hence the sale occurred.
