Upgrade to Android 9 (Pie)?

I took a shot and upgraded my Samsung GS8+ to Pie and it seems to be some improvement.  Takes a little getting used to the changes to icons and a few new methods I had to figure out. In 8 the soft keys (Back home and app stack) would autohide and now they don't.  I need to find a setting for that maybe.  It has caused a problem at least once where I wanted to tap on a button on the bottom of a webpage but it was behind the soft keys so I couldn't.  When I first got the phone it took me a while to figure out how to bring the softkeys up after they hid but now I like it.  Another thing I had to figure out with 9 was under 8 you could bring up the app stack and then close apps by hitting the X in the corner.  The problem was that trying to hit the little X I often missed so the page would blow up to full screen instead of closing.  I'd have to hit the app stack button and try for the X again.  With 9 the app stack is right to left instead of top to bottom and you see the app you're on and part of the app to the right and part to the left.  To close one of them you just swipe it up off the screen so that's an improvement.  Of course, you still have the Close All option.

One of the things I kind of don't like is when you start up one of the Samsung apps, the top third of the page is blank with the title written across the middle like it's important.  So you go to check your messages you probably know you are looking at MESSAGES and don't need a big reminder taking up the page.  Maybe there's a setting for that too.  And of course, when you scroll down the title just slides to the top and only takes a line. I've had one app come up and say it wasn't made for that android version and I should get an update but there isn't one yet, but the app still worked as far as I could tell.

I should mention this version I downloaded isn't exactly the right one for my phone (something like G955U whereas mine is G955U1) it still seems stable and maybe a bit faster.  YMMV.
