After going round and round I grabbed up the bolts and told the manager that I would keep the bolts but would never shop there again, ever!                                      As far as Walmart being a mom & pop killer, would not the malls and their department stores be also?

Do you know how many times others have said that here..They could care less if you come back..Samething in the restaurants here,do you think they would comp you for any mistake they made.? No way....The brick&mortar malls are dieing in the USA...

Walmart may bring to the table something other stores don't.

Quality of cheap sh!t:scratch_head:

We know China ships sh!t here, the stores know they are selling sh!t and don't give a sh!t, which is why you have to test every electric item you buy AND have a damn hard time returning something that fails within their warranty period.

China may not play the same game with them here, given how much they make from them in US.

Went to 138 basement to get a round to flat blade wall socket - I almost plugged it in but had a salesgirl do it - caught fire - she looked like she was going to cry. Needless to say didn't buy that brand.

Went to Ace - twice as much

I would expect there would be a Walmart to first be in Quam. Then warehousing and Sam's club facilities being built. For a Walmart to be built here the Philippines will need to allow land ownership to foreign interest and the abolishment of the 60%/40% law be amended.  These two policies hinder growth rather than entice foreign investments  Walmart is not going to waste resources on the foolishness encountered dealing with corrupt businessmen and inept legal protections. Quam already has the world's largest Kmart.

and a Home Depot

That's the point. If enough people feel ripped off by a store they will avoid it and with it sales will go down. Even in the Philippines businesses who are losing money do not remain around. A few businesses in the Philippines have learned the importance of customer service and , if competitive with price and value, will thrive. The Philippines is 15 to 20 years behind the US. And given time, they will follow the same path. Online sales in the US are beating the brick and mortar to death because of price and customer service. The Philippines will get there in time
