Hi All,

Just wanted to introduce myself and say hi.  My name is Bruce and I moved here permanently last May.  Have finally gotten settled with my condo, visa and all the other stuff that one must do when relocating to another country and looking to make friends with others here in Cebu.

I am from California.  Retired some years ago.  I enjoy sports, movies, reading, writing, etc.  I enjoy being active and try to exercise daily (sometimes I cheat on that!!)

I live in Lahug (Nivel Hills) but get to Ayala/IT park frequently given that is where most of the shopping/restaurants are.

Thanks Dafey.  I am sure I will have questions as while I lived here for a bit over 2 years - that was a few years ago and have only been here 7 months so still lots to learn.  And this time it is a permanent move so I will need to immerse in life here at a deeper level.

Also, thanks JTM.  I guess there are relatively few expats in our neck of the woods compared to Ayala and Mandaue.  But I like the serenity and the view from the hills.

Hi Bruce, welcome.

Is the climate a bit cooler up in the hills as opposed to being in the city?

Thanks Headshot.  I am sure it will all work out fine.  I love where I live and other than the horrendous traffic I enjoy Cebu.

Hi Pete

It does seem a bit cooler with more wind as there isn't all the buildings and cement/roads up here to reflect the heat around.  Having said that, it is still hot here, too.  But that is the Philippines.

Take care

Bruce
