I wish I could say Beatles Help or something cooler, but I think it was the Herman's Hermits "I'm Henery the Eighth, I Am"  on 45.

I remember that song..hear the cockney accent

First 45rpm; Jumpin Jack Flash.  First album; Magical Mystery Tour.

It took a few weeks saving weekly allowances to buy.

Rolling Stones, another great band. Here's Jumpin Jack Flash, live in Texas 1972

As the Beatles Double White was one of my favourite albums this article turned up quite unexpected in my news feed. It's Quite long and rambles a bit. Just get a coffee first.

Highway 61 Revisited by Bob Dylan.   Opened my eyes to a brand new world.  Also made me a weirdo in the eyes of my buddies on the ship.

Rush 2112.

1976 sat stoned in a bean bag chair and read the lyrics on the album cover as the album played.  Suddenly the world talked to me and I got it.  Still one of the best today.

I was still in 6th grade and used to hang out at a somewhat seedy antique shop that had nice holdings of coins, and I liked collecting all kinds. Mr. Griegst - the only Jew I had ever known at that point - let me fish through his stacks of coins and sort them. Somehow or other he drew in a few odd types and drugs were seeming to escalate. A tall lanky, apparently wasted dude walked in, leaned on the glass counter and declared... "Ice cream has no bones." I never forgot that wisdom, ha.
