Your First Pop Record Bought

Recommended Posts

petecebu

In our younger days before CD's and youtube came in records were 7" for singles and 12" for LP's on vinyl.

What was the first record you ever bought? This was mine..a 7" single by David Bowie..about 44 years ago..

Sorry to hear that...all my oldies are still with my brother in the UK. Dunno if will ever see them again.

I reckon the Beatles were great..1st song I can remember of theirs was on Top of the POPs TV programme that used to be on every Thursday night...She Loves You, Yeah,Yeah..was too young to buy my own records then.

Gee...memories, memories...some great music compared to the rap crap that goes about today. Maybe it's just our age..lol

My 1st 12" album was The Faces Live..I think that was the title, with Rod Stewart starting of on his road to fame. Ronnie Wood was always on stage with a cig in his mouth and never changed when he went to the Rolling Stones

I used to work with a guy called Mike Jones (Late 1962).he was a panel beater, and i was a 16 year old mechanic. He turned out to be the cousin of Brian Jones.
He would say in the lunchroom his cousin was in a group called the Rolling Stones. AH YEH we would say, any good...

The rest is history..
