I've copied and pasted a small section of a website that deals with this problem as a pedestrian. Kids solved this problem a long time ago...

towboat72 820
I find that no one pays an attention to horns blowing. They get blown so often for no reason it means nothing. If your driving up the street and there will be people walking 6 wide across road you beep horn,no one even looks let alone moves.

I find that if you don't blow the horn, they will not even acknowledge your existence. A loud horn helps.
GBT62 836
Well I ordered a new advertised "loud" horn for my MTB in the 11.11 Lazada sale. It is specifically for the SRP Taxi's, Ceres and local busses that insist on pulling back into traffic whilst I am 3/4 pedalled up their "traffic" side again and again........ leaving me nowhere to go That - and a pair of USB-rechargable white strobes for the handlebars. If none of that makes any difference - the final step is a car horn - and a 36v-12v step-down transformer (my MTB has a 36V battery) - if only for the look on their faces
