DVD Drive to USB 3 ?

Recommended Posts

JohnSurrey

I have an old laptop, without an express card slot, that I'd like to add a USB 3 port to...

I'm thinking I might be able to take out the DVD and get some kind of caddy to slot in there with USB 3 ports ...

Anyone know if you can do this - what's the name of the thing I'm looking for?

Found one for a Dell here:

Unfortunately I'm Toshiba...

Not many replies - Next time you're there perhaps you could ask them for me?

Don't think I've been to Ormoc for a couple of years!

No unfortunately it doesn't it's 1 PC Card slot support 1 Type II, PCMCIA R2.01, PC Card16, CardBus ... the old one

Which is why I'm hoping to find something like they do for the Dell lap top... see opening post.
