Pier 1 accomodations

We took SuperCat out of Pier 1 today. Since we were coming from Liloan we left super early by cab in case there was more than the usual insane traffic. When we arrived at Pier 1 we had about 2 hours to kill before our boat so we decided to try the new Tyke's Cafe on the upper level of the terminal.

The seating is very comfortable and lots of tables to set up your laptop, sofas and comfy chairs to relax in and some descent food choices. Tykes Cafe has mostly local food like Humba, longanesa, chiroza and all day breakfast. Each meal comes with rice and some with veggies on the side. We sprung for a Humba and a Hungarian sausage with egg...310 pesos.

We also had a short Caramel Latte and a tall Latte with 2 designer cupcakes that were excellent for 300 pesos from  Cupca Ken on the same level.

the coffees were nice to have and the breakfast saved us from having to eat the boat food which is not so great. After we were able to rest in comfy furniture and check our email and online stuff.

I like this new accommodation and hope they keep improving as a welcome place to kill some time before jumping on your ship.

I usually head upstairs for a comfy seat, a coffee and a large tasty chocolate cupcake on my way to Ormoc.

After I've had some fresh buko juice downstairs (From that green stall on the left in your last photo :) )

On a side note, last time I also traveled tourist class for a change (usually Oceanjet business class) - outside, upstairs under the tarp.

Lesson to self, dont fall asleep at the back of the boat.

At some point along the way they took a turn to starboard (so I was no longer in the shade under the tarp) and I woke up with a head like a beetroot...

Aftersun from the fridge is soooooo good :D
