Came through new terminal yesterday on Cathay Pacific.

Immigration was no issue.  My passport is 5 years old and has at least 8 entries and 12 visa extensions showing.  He asked if I live here and I replied yes, my wife and I have house in the province, and I have 2 sons.  He asked if my wife was with me, and I replied yes..  in the province but not here in the airport just now.. He smiled..  said "welcome back" and sent me on my way.

Didn't spend long at it, but did try to get tablet connected to wifi.  It asked for information I didn't have (I think user name or password or both) so I just turned off.

New form required for Customs (in addition to the old immigration form).  Limit on form for currency was 10,000 peso, and I have 15,000, so reported it honestly.  Customs agent said not to worry, they changed the limit to 50,000.

Quoted 2,200 (via Trans Central) or 2,500 (via Danao) to Tuburan by one of the taxi booths outside (printed price sheet)..  Having been travelling for about 40 hours at that point (Toronto>Shanghai>HK>Cebu with shitty transfers) I opted for the lazy way home.   It's a solid 2 hour drive to my place. We went via Danao, and I paid 2,500 plus 300 tip.  Paid 2-1/2 times that amount to get to airport in Canada to start my trip, for 1 hour shared ride.

Painless overall.

Wife had cold drink and her best ever fresh curried goat waiting for me when I got home.  Life is good.

Enuff, you really need to get a 13a visa if you are going to be living here for good. P3000 for a couple of months? OMG. We pay P310 per year.

Did they give you a BB stamp without your wife there? Or are you on a 13A?

I'm still on tourist visa.  And no..  they gave me tourist entry.  I was conscious of another thread by another LINC member where he had problems at entry from (perhaps an overly) zealous immigration agent who questioned his status.   But I didn't get any hassle, even though it was clear I have done lots of extensions.

I came in to the new terminal....my first impression was that it looks good from a distance but on closer inspection the detailing is a total fudge. In time this will become far more obvious. It has all the hallmarks of a building designed by professionals but the construction drawings and the  supervision is managed by local contractors. It’s amazing the snags that can be overcome with some filler and a silicone gun....look it’s fixed..I can’t see what all the fuss is about.

Walk up to the immigration kiosks and look to your left. There is an open area with about 3 desks and some immigration officers. Hand them your passport and p3k then have a seat. 5 minutes later they return and place you next in line.

I arrived on the 28th July at the new airport. Having been processed at the old airport more times than I can remember I was looking forward to seeing what the new airport was all about.

Over three hours to get to immigration!  A line so long you could hardly see the end of it! of the 17 immigration counters only 4 were maned. Worst airport experience of my life, and I have been to plenty of shitty third world countries in my time.

Before T2, when i arrived at T1 I would skip the immigration lines altogether and go directly to the little office on the right near the booths, pay the 3000, and i would be escorted to the head of the nearest line, took about 5 minutes and i was on the street.

Arrived back yesterday on the CX flight from HK at around 11.00hrs.  Very pleasant experience in arrivals though it seems to take forever to get the skybridge or gate to the plane.  On the upside passengers can now disembark through two plane exits instead of one as in the old terminal.

When I got to Immigration I asked an officer where the line for Seniors is.  There are no signs yet but yesterday he directed to the line on the left side (facing the desks) - it went to the desk marked Cashier.  Very short wait.  So if you don't see it just ask.

The baggage carousels are greatly improved and the baggage arrival time was very short.  Just be reminded that we are now back to filling in the (same old) customs declaration form - which was not available on the CX flight - but which can be picked up from CX ground staff or in the arrivals hall.  I guess this may be a temporary arrangement until the x-ray machines are installed.

Everyone in Arrivals was very friendly.  The Customs staff were particularly cheerful!  Just told them I lived here with my wife and they waived me through.

May I enquire - how old is a senior,  and is anyone over that age consider a senior or do u need to be on a special visa?

..  and finally as my wife is "not"  SENIOR, IF i qualify ( I am 60)  can she accompany me to  the seniors line?
