Murder In The Family - Philippines

From memory, and it is some time since I watched it, it was her family that gave the evidence against her.

What was shocking was the lack of police action unless someone paid them.

It cost Steves mother a great deal of

From the two filipina women talking bad about me... behind me in line in the bookstore .. and their husbands(fellow lifers) that i met and invited home for dinner... gave them the ride of their life in the wellcraft :o to the phil girl cashier in the publix who ignores mr stinky giant.. blue eyes.. until i ve stood with my finger in my ... for the appropriate duration... and am relegated to my proper stinky social status.. youre gonna be "stuck in lodi" again and again.. thinkin a filipina is going to bypass 500 years of passive aggressive posturing and preening to satisfy any form of efficient commerce or communication... thus satisfying these realistic parameters...a certain type of rescuer is looking for an appropriate surrogate to replace the mother he would relish killing.. this fellow cleverly engineered his own demise .. chose his girllotine and sociopathic business associate well..i suspect they would be better off munchin crispy "Knight errant Scandinavian" .. than with grannyukaydimous ... Thanks for putting up the videos, Paul. A riveting watch and a real education. It shows how desperate, brutally callous, and totally alien a person can be in Evelyn's straits.

Some of you may remember, my girlfriend was a GRO for over a year. Though she is no Evelyn, seeing this documentary certainly helps me make progress on a different perspective of her. And I also see a little of Stephen in myself in months past, who was more naive with his money than I ever would have the resources to be. I too tend toward idolizing beauty, a big flaw. Over the months I have gotten more realistic--and tougher, and this documentary has helped.

In general, it will make me warier when I'm down there for two months this summer. I pretty much live like a local, taking tricycles and jeepneys with my girlfriend in Cebu City, and hanging out on the porch of her mom's hillside home in the province, drinking Tanduay and Nestea with the local boys as they rattle on in Bisaya without me understanding much. I'm sure it's around the barangay that a local girl has a Kano boyfriend. It's a fairly isolated place. I've been to Cebu perhaps eight times, and never have felt in danger, but still, seeing this gives me pause.

For arguments sake, lets say the girl really did kill her husband. So? How does that relate to someone going to the Philippines? There are probably more woman in the USA like that than there are in the Philippines.

Just like the Philippines, there are many girls that go work at strip clubs, "massage parlors" and escort services in order to make a fast buck. There are those that get caught up in that crystal meth or crack. After a while those drugs turn them into crack whores. If you find them young, there are good looking crack whores. There are numerous stories of crack whores killing their men in the States. From time to time I'll read stories of very disturbing murders by crack heads. Should the Japanese watch these stories and then fear to go to the States and get married because they might marry a woman that would kill them?

As with other threads on this site, dating a bar girl is a big risk. Any girl thats gonna kick her heals up every night for the next stranger with 20 dollars is gonna have low morals and a person with low morals has a higher chance of being willing to kill her own husband for the $$. This guy bought a whore in (of all places) angeles city. He later "bought her for life" with 500 pesos. Hello?? Big Red Siren!!! He might as well of done the same thing in the harshest area of Detroit with a colored girl trying to dig her way out of the slums.

Edit:

I did some research and Evelyn (the wife) actually made an appeal which was denied. I hope that this will serve as a lesson to those who would think to murder their own spouse to try for a better life. Its better to really try to repair the relationship and if that cant work, leave. She must have been stupid. I know that during an annulment the wife would have gotten some good support from the guy as the kids were below 7 and they were living in the Philippines.

I was curious about that what the actual statistics are available between the US and the Philippines regarding prostitution, so I did some rough estimating. One estimate in the US of the number of full-time prostitutes in 1990 was 23 per 100,000. This included male prostitutes, an admittedly small number, but still reducing the number of females lower still. I estimated the population of the Philippines in 1998 conservatively to be about 72 million. The Coalition Against the Trafficking of Women estimated the number of prostitutes that year to be 400,000 to a half million. Doing the math with the lower figure, this came out to around 555 per 100,000, considerably higher even when figuring in the younger median age in the Philippines. So, given that those with such low morals do bad things, the shabu, etc, wouldn't it seem more probable that bad things could happen more often in the Philippines?

Also, in the US, it is far easier to avoid bad neighborhoods in urban areas, or contact with desperate people, than in the Philippines, where poverty is more widespread. That Japanese tourist isn't going to be snapping pictures in Watts or scenic Newark, or of the crack houses of Detroit. He or she not likely to get pick pocketed in the parking lot of Disneyland. In the Philippines, with a small middle class, the inverse is true; instead of pockets of poverty set among relative wealth, you have pockets of wealth surrounded by poverty.

Don't get me wrong. I love the Philippines and its people, and will continue to behave as I always have, living very locally, taking jeepneys, etc. I just wanted to point out a flawed argument. And yes, the rates of homicide in the US and the Philippines are comparable.

A correction: Due to the improbability of a Japanese man seeking a wife in the US, I stereotyped him into a photo-snapping tourist. I wish him all the luck in the world.

Watching the videos i look at it this way :- British Media has become so biast in the last 10 years I wouldnt believe a word they say as it is all one sided.

The only questions that were asked from the wives family were to do with money.. nothing meantioned the fact they sent a daughter off to sell her body for money "FOR THEM". Aswell as the reality that this guy knew what he was doing.. he was no saint if you play the game you cant complain if it bites you.

Sleeping around with prostitutes nevermind multiple on video isnt the way to go in a marriage. If he wanted out divorce should have been first before humiliation. I hated my old ex before and after i got rid of her i bought a new car.. women hate success they want to see you fail!! Be happy and enjoy life.. if you want to whore dont settle down as it causes humilation that affects your wife and her family.. The mother of the dead guy seems the typical reason there is so many problems in the UK she didnt once say my son was an asshole for messing around with prostitutes her anger and blame were 100% on the wife. When infact from the women ive met they are for the majority more into securing the marriage than messing around.

The 'value' of life here in the Philippines seems to be proportional to its financial global rating. How often do we hear about fights, shootings, knifeings and muders that are related to even the most minor of disagreements. Only recently I read a report about a knife attack that happened because of how the other guy 'stared'.

The value of a human life here in the Philippines is roughly P50,000 based on the most recent data

Forgive me if I am mistaken, but it seems to me that it was Evelyn's own family that provided the needed imformation on where the brother in law was. This put there daughter in jail. This says alot about the quaility of her family.

And it says a lot about what a bar girl experiences with men. And then drugs, drinking, whatever they need to do to not feel shame.

There would be no supply without demand.

Don't make an evaluation of the worth of human life in the PI or anywhere else; it's just going to lead to cynicism. It's going to make you give a value to what is priceless everywhere, bar girls included.

I'm sorry. I'm drunk. But that's where moments of clarity come. In vino veritas--in wine there is truth.

i think she got what she had coming to her,

but a cant help thinking that N.O.W> and the ACLU would have a field day with this one.

if it happened here in the US.

I know this, if I acted the way he did. If I had done the things he did. My wife would have killed me herself. She would have been justified.

Was she having an affair? Probably!

Was she justified to do so? Probably!

Was he being a saintly faithful husband and father? Doubtful!

Would woman in any other country had done the same if they heard of his behavior? Happens in every country!

Did his actions help to create this event? ABSOLUTELY!!!

This was an illiterate child who had been exploited by everyone she probably knew and trusted. Stupid to the world, ignorant because of her world, inexperienced to the world, and now condemned by the world.

"It is a small world after all"

If my wife had an affair, it would be my fault. I did not give here what she needed. Killing her is not justified

If I am a family man have grand sex parties regularly, it is my fault for not being a man. Killing me is justified

Usually if a woman has to sneak around her husband, it is because she can not trust him. She has learned that he is not a help, but is a hindrance. You can not truly communicate from a stance of closed mindedness.

My wife would have field dressed me in a heart beat, and used my nutts as a x-mas tree ornament.

nothing justifies the conspiracy to murder this guy. What's good about it is that the killer got caught and punished, and it's sobering that the only reason that happened is that the victim had family members willing to expend time, money and effort at solving it. Evelyn was a bit unlucky in that most guys that hook up with pinays aren't young like him but older guys, quite often total deadbeats with little in the way of the family support that Steve had. Exactly the same thing happens in Thailand as the Philippines. I can point you to several murder cases there where only intervention by the family and/or the use of a Private Investigator brought murderers to justice. If that outside help hadn't have come into play, the murderers would still be free. The police aren't interested.

most of these conspirators get away with it, and they get what they want. That's a dead guy and a pot of money.
