So, the big question everybody should be asking ... is this tremor an aftershock to the February 10th 6.7 tremor ... or are all of these tremors just pre-shocks to a really big quake? The area of the Philippine Trench is certainly capable of producing some huge quakes.

The fault line that runs through Surigao city is different than the one on the Philippine Trench.

We felt the quake this morning on Siargao. A good ten-second rattle. But no damage.

Saw they did some quick evacuations in Surigao city this morning including the hospitals.

INFOcus: Per info from Director Renato Solidum, their agency updated the magnitude of the recent earthquake from 5.4 to 5.9 while intensity VI was felt in Surigao City. Further, reports received at Central Radio Center of Surigao City, the following were initially recorded:
1 injured and rescued at City Hardware, Brgy. Luna, SC;
1 residential house partially collapse at Narciso, P.Reyes St. Brgy. Taft, SC; and
1 residential house partially collapse at Kaskag Village, Brgy. Washinyon, SC. Meanwhile, city
rescue team is now heading to Brgy. Sabang to respond for a rescue call on a partially collapse residential bldg.
