Doing my research on previous posts, the consensus of opinion seemed to be COLON ST for price and service EXCEPT nobody knew any names or addresses.. Why not? Went to Colon St. and tried 3 stores while my pants were being hemmed at Gilmore's. First store in Colonnade Mall (bright, well-stocked with frames, had a funny smell). I explained that I needed ONE lens to correct ONLY astigmatism in my LEFT eye - NO rx for reading or distance, astigmatism only, left eye only. Seemed simple enough to me. Well, after 20 minutes of me constantly repeating what I wanted and the "Dr" trying to create a distance RX for my left eye and trying to get me to cooperate with testing my right eye, I gave up and left. FAILURE TO COMMUNICATE - frustrating as hell. Went to second store across the street and explained what I wanted. The lady seemed to understand, went to the phone, came back and said "you went to our other store SAME OWNER." No help here either, but I did get a price - P7000 and even though this was lower than the P14,000 I was initially quoted by a store in the mall, I left and went to the third store down the street. Before I could say what I wanted, they said "SAME OWNER." No more Colon St.for me. One giant con. Went home, but stopped to pick up my laundry and chatted up the manager about my recent eyeglass adventure. She mentioned she had been referred to "HAPPY FEET" in Century Plaza on Juana Osmena. Now I'm thinking why would I go to a SHOE STORE for eyeglasses, but It was only down the street so what the hell. Well it was not "Happy Feet" but rather HAPPY FIT, pronounced with a Filipina accent. Very professional and attentive to my request Quoted my P5000 including the transitional tinting and I agreed..Takes 7-10 days. I will update upon delivery. Such was my eyeglass adventure with a hopeful happy ending..
