Charlesleahy posted a topic in Vehicles, Driving, Servicing & Licensing Information
Hi, Does anyone living in Lapu-Lapu City have any idea how to go about paying a fine? Got stopped and given a ticket for stupidly not wearing a helmet on a short trip to Maccies. However can't for the life of me work out where I pay! Been to a load of locations and not even the police station knew lol, just about to give up, only had it 3 days. Thanks in advance! Charles -
10 Traffic Violations You Probably Didn’t Know Existed
hookedtothenet posted a topic in Vehicles, Driving, Servicing & Licensing Information
Just came across this article, thought your guys might find it of interest. Every self-respecting driver in the Philippines must know the basic traffic rules by heart. This includes common infractions like overspeeding, violating the number coding scheme, driving without a license, and beating the red light. However, the country isn’t short of odd and obscure laws either. Here are a few traffic violations, as stated on the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority’s (MMDA) site, that we bet you didn’t even know existed—and how much the fines are. 1. Dirty or uncared for plates Plate numb- 18 replies

EIGHT vehicles got tangled in a vehicular accident at Marcelo Fernan Bridge downhill at the Mandaue City side at 3 pm Saturday. Glenn Antigua, head of the Traffic Enforcement Agency of Mandaue (Team), said a cargo truck owned by Vic Enterprises that came from Lapu-Lapu City and sped downhill towards UN Avenue in Mandaue City allegedly lost its brakes and rammed into a taxi, two other small trucks and three taxis. One of the taxis rammed into an opposite lane and hit a motorcycle. The vehicles blocked the lane going to Mandaue City and the opposite lane, stalling traffic. The build up of ve

One can only hope that affordable, clean, safe transport is the future. Jeepney's cannot be. Cebu City – Transport groups in Cebu have opposed the plan of SM Prime Holdings Inc. (SMPHI) to field 77 hybrid buses in Metro Cebu, citing worsening traffic and possible displacement of jeepney drivers. The groups, led by the Pagkakaisa ng Samahan ng Tsuper at Opereytor Nationwide (Piston) Cebu chapter, held a protest rally during a hearing last Friday at the Land Transportation and Franchising Regulatory Board (LTFRB-7). The hearing was on SM’s application for a license to field 77 “high quality” b

Will a new traffic signal system arrive in Lapu-lapu City/Mactan?
Hellbrix posted a topic in Philippine Politics
Good day people, I've been living in Lapu-lapu City since birth. I believe one of the bad reputations (continually) of my city I've lived in for long is the busted traffic lights. It has been during my early-mid elementary years that I can recall that they were still functioning, though based on videos' screenshots I've saw on YouTube, they were around the time of ASEAN summit. Often I suspect (also through other forums and people's posts/thoughts) it has not been either asserted or heard well, particularly by DOTC, MPTC, MCDC, DPWH, and of course, Lapu-lapu City. Where's the concern?- 6 replies

Have you been booked for a traffic violation?
contraman posted a topic in Vehicles, Driving, Servicing & Licensing Information
I was having a brief chat with some expats over a few beers. The topic of traffic enforcement came up and made me wonder if expats are targeted more than locals. I n one case this guy had been booked 3 times in 16 years, another 3 times in 3 years. Myself, I have only been stopped at one of those checkpoints, but told to go as soon as they see the WG. Be interesting to hear others experiences. -
I became more observant after joining LINC, was in a Ceres bus on the boundary bridge entering Cebu City when we were stocked in traffic. I notice the drivers make the two lane three.

Several road accidents in 1 week, killed 14 people, injured scores!
David_LivinginTalisay posted a topic in Vehicles, Driving & Licensing Information
LTO 7 In just a span of one week several road accidents happened in Cebu that killed about fourteen people and injured scores of passengers. Just this morning we were informed that a honda civic car suddenly swerved to the left side of the highway and rammed an approaching ceres bus and killed one of the four passengers of the car and caused injuries to the three others. These series of accidents only prove that the United Nation was correct to declare the year 2010 to 2020 as the decade of action for road safety due to the growing number of deaths caused by road accidents that made it one of
