Sampaquita Suites JRG Building General Maxilon Avenue An interesting place to say the least. Internet book-in was seamless and got conformation almost immediately. Its location is great if you wish to visit the Bars on Mango or shop at Robinsons. I Booked a Double room thinking it was a room with a double bed, Wrong, it was a room with two singles. The room was tiny and takes the agility of an olympian athlete to make ones way around the room. There was an old CRT Television that was hooked up to a cable box, all I seemed to get was the Filipino Chanels. There was a small in window type air conditioner that worked surprisingly well. There was a shower over the toilet pan with a gas hot water service on the wall. Service was sparse and towels (about the size of a handkerchief) were only changed when requested. The hot water was out for 36 hours. Repeated requests were either ignored or attended to by someone that didn’t have a clue. One guy proceeded to take the covers off the heater unit with a penknife. I did suggest that as the Power light was not lit, perhaps he should check the breaker. All I got was that "it has no breaker" ! WTF Later that day I met him on the stairs and he say “Mister, your water is all good, I reset the breaker” to which I replied, “Oh the one that is not fitted”, Yes was the reply The faucet on the hand basin was loose and would completely turn around when turning off or on, likewise the toilet seat was not bolted to the pan. I asked if they could be attended to and promptly a guy came up and put the toilet seat back on the pan (didn’t do the bolts up) and just turned the faucet to a center position on the basin (didn't tighten anything) so the whole exercise was a waste of time. The staff were all very sour faced and had absolutely No idea of who did what or even managed a smile. Yet were always texting ot playing game on their cellphones. However, I lost my (sacrificial) wallet with about P3000 and some change. It was found by a staff member and I actually got a call from reception to tell me they had it. This was before I even realized I had lost it. Would I stay there again, Not unless Hell freezes over.
