  1. Was at Cebu Phil Health Cebu main office at Golden Peak Hotel two days ago to check on my friends insurance. While there i had the lady check on my coverage,as i had made a advance payment in July till 2020 ,she looked me up in there computer she said sir you paid up fully to middle of 2020 all good yes we will pay some of your bill if your in the hospital so guess i am covered OK. As had wait till now to see what would happen and it seems OK like the manager told me in July .Hope if any body paid the advanced payments and have been in the hospital over night will post there results ,thanks
  2. Don't know if this has already been posted but I'm being told that foreign spouses will no longer be covered under their wife's PhilHealth effective 1 July. Foreigners wanting PhilHealth coverage will need to get their own PH account and can do so now at the p200/month rate and you can pay 3 years in advance so 3 years would be p7200 total. If you wait to get PH until 1July the rate will be p17K/year or p15K/year if you're on PRA. https://www.philhealth.gov.ph/circulars/2017/circ2017-0003.pdf As far as I understand it the regular Pinoy rate, p200/month, is not changing, but again, you can pay up to 3 years in advance.
  3. I believe expats can join Philhealth but I'm wondering about the need to produce a birth certificate as locals must. Has anyone joined? Did a passport do or will birth certificate be needed? KonC
  4. I've also posted this post in "Phil health for foreigners" and decided to start a new thread with it. Talking with my G/F recently.....few months ago her 80 year old mother broke her hip and went to hospital in Cebu to get it fixed....it turned out to be quite expensive(I will get the figure and post) because the "old bird" didn't want to leave the hospital and stayed longer than what she should have.I mentioned to my G/F yesterday that its possible for foreigners to get Phil Health now because I read it on the forum and told her I would like to sign up for it next time Im in Cebu....I said to her...you have Phil Health don't you......not anymore she replied, when did you get rid of it I asked....after Mama left the hospital she said.....why I said....she replied that Phil health refused to help pay her mothers hospital bill after the "old bird" paid into Phil health since time began !!....who told you this I asked(my G/F lives in London) oh, she said Uncle Fred(name changed) Uncle Fred is her Uncle who lives across the road and is known to be a total rip off merchant....G/F said that she was sending money to Cebu as the bills were coming in from the hospital....the money was going to "Uncle Fred" who said he would go and pay the hospital....and he did, when my G/F asked about claiming the deduction for Phil Health "Uncle Fred" said Phil health wont allow any money for Momma because she is too old !!.....and it was left at that. Ive advised my G/F to investigate this story because if "Uncle Fred" is lieing he must have "done" her out of a lot of money. Anyone ever heard of being too old to claim Phil health?
  5. If you are over 70 years old and you are a beneficiary of your wife in Philhealth, please visit or ask your wife to your nearest PH office and get another MDR (Members Data Record) and you will find out your name is not there anymore! PH gives you another membership card wherein you are a LIFETIME member and no need to pay for the rest of your life as long as you are in PI. You can make your wife now as dependent and all the children, even if they are your step children. Take this from our experience as very recently i went there and show all my Official Receipt and was asking for a MDR since Alan is suppose to have his one night stay at the hospital for a badly needed Executive Check-up. I was scared at first because his name was not listed in my MDR as beneficiary. Then, the staff asked me his full name and after a minute, there goes his own membership. I was advised to submit a copy of our marriage contract, his BC, BC of my children (his step-children) so that we will become his dependents! Yes we are now lifetime members, and it means not paying anymore the annual dues of 2400 yet still avail all its privileges. Of course I asked what if the foreigners are not married to Filipina and they are PH members, can they also avail? YES but you cant make your partners your beneficiaries. NOW, as to coverage, it all depend on the cause of your admission. For Alan's admission. out of 42,000, PH pays 16,000. Not BAD at all. With this, I am again encouraging any foreigners visiting the country or already in the country, get your PH now, we will never know if you will end up spending the rest of your life here and you will be 70. All the office needs is a copy of you birth certificate and passport!
