Similar to how they showed  the Doppler effect- had a band on railroad  car playing one note as it passed

Useless bit of info - if source is coming directly at you and speed / pitch remain the same - no perceived effect.

So what your saying is when Im driving and I hear a loud motorcycle coming up on me, and look back and see him its really to neither one of us's advantage....as opposed to when somebody in something like my wifes mio passes me and I never see them until its abreast of me?

Depends on if you are in car or walking.

Had a science teacher in grammar school - 60 years ago -  who actually tried to get us to think about what we were being taught not just memorize it.

Would ask questions that made you think  - allowed some questions for clarification  - but not many.

such as

"When is the Doppler Effect not apparent?"

"Two pcs small metal bars are identical - using nothing else - how do you determine  which is a magnet"

Actually there is a change in pitch and the perceived effect is pain.

No, it won’t open.  It’s been like this for a while.  I get only the words, but no link or way to open.
