I just get the impression that some North Americans have a higher expectation than myself,

And that is why you describe yourself as " overworked and underpaid " ??

Yes, I think most North Americans prefer not to be overworked and not underpaid so of course ALL of them have a higher expectation than you do !

Now I can see why so many cannot live on $1000 per month, I can pass on America cuisine lol.
I love an English breakfast, but I cook my own, much much cheaper and not tempted to then buy other goods on the way to and from the restaurant.
Maybe I can open a place and sell Breakfast, as my scrambled egg on homemade bread is really delicious.
Maybe cooking for yourself is a European/Ozzie thing?
We eat 90% meals at home, Abaca, Tango Macaron and Jollibee are the exception

I understand that, I just get the impression that some North Americans have a higher expectation than myself, and I live a very very comfortable life both here in China and in Cebu, in comparison to how I would live in the UK.

So what do you expect ?
Someone opens an expensive franchise restaurant , in a newish ( and probably expensive rent mall ) ..
And you want them to keep it empty for you at the Peak dining time ?

Filipinos late for a MEAL?! Surely you jest! They might be late for everything else, but not for a meal when they're hungry.

If I tell my asawa I'm going to take her to lunch at 12 noon, she'll definitely let me know if I'm running even five minutes late. And if it gets to about the 20 minute late mark, she'll get downright grouchy!

went there today. Some sort of rice with with dried bacon and others. Taste was excellent.

A bit more pricey and it is clearly filipino-sized not american sized. P75 side salad was TINY.

Staff were cute, less annoying than Friday's.

What's with the hash brown? That's the original version? first time I had that thing.

Headshot

I  took my family to Denny's on Sunday. I had a bourbon BBQ cheeseburger, and I would rate it up near the top for burgers in Cebu. However, the prices are through the roof for various dishes (kind of like TGI Friday's). They are charging for the brand rather than giving value for money. Even though the food is fairly good, I doubt we will be going back. The other thing is that their menu doesn't even try to follow the menu found at Denny's in the US. They simply didn't have what we were looking for.
