I also restored a 67 Fairlane convertible.  Some kid had inherited it from his grandmother after she died. He had run it into a curb and broken a tie rod. He came into the wrecking yard I was running wanting to sell it. He didn't tell me it was an all original XL convertible. I gave him $40 sight unseen. What a shock when I saw it the first time. It had some rust but was a great shape otherwise, grandma evidently had a garage. I replaced the tie rod and drove it away. Painted it, rebuilt the original 390, and sold it about 6 months later for $11,000.
