  4. Interesting how some actors have fared well over the years, and some not so well... Who could have imagined when American Graffiti was released, that several of the actors would become major stars, including several Academy Award winners...
  5. 800,000 is actually a pretty good indicator but their tests are in the cities. No telling how it is in the smaller cities and the provinces. Also, without tracing, tracking and quarantine there is no follow through to help the situation. We are just seeing where we were on the day the tests were taken. These tests need to have same day results to be productive to solving the issue Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I found a chart from the DOH that showed a total of ~330,000 tests completed and ~800,000 tests waiting to be completed. So, about 1% tested and ~.3% completed. And they are basing all of their decisions on that. Well, I guess they have to base them on something......https://www.doh.gov.ph/2019-nCoV
  7. I was same deal rao subic sent mail to rao cebu yesterday to phil direct he is trying to ship it out
  8. "The number of coronavirus-infected patients in the country has swelled by 1,046 cases on Friday — although the Department of Health (DOH) insists that only 46 of them were what it called “fresh cases.” According to the latest DOH data, there were now 16,634 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the Philippines, but 1,000 of the new data reported Friday were old cases, or test results dated more than four days ago but were only recently confirmed by the epidemiology bureau." https://newsinfo.inquirer.net/1283264/covid-19-cases-rise-by-1046-but-only-46-are-fresh-cases-according-to-doh
  9. Yesterday
  10. Agreed The provinces have been relatively free of covid19 during all the lockdown. Now, there is a possibility of infected people bringing the virus to the province where it will spread like wildfire. It’s okay if they have been in quarantine and tested negative at the end but if they test positive Manila needs to hold them and nurture them until they are no longer puny. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. It's not just the OFWs. A lot of stranded students and others are beginning to arrive back home in the provinces. It doesn't inspire a lot of confidence, that's for sure. Arriving Students I saw that spike in cases yesterday too. Will be interesting to see today's cases (reported around 4 pm) on the cusp of the eased restrictions come Monday.
  12. They say that the spike in cases is from OFWs that just did quarantine and tested positive. And now...we’re sending them to their home in the province! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Has anybody an idea why the Philippines according to worldometer has suddenly over 1000 infections today? Nearly double the highest recording ever. If that is true, the Philippines does things a little bit different. It starts to relax the lock down upon a steep increase of infections. It might have its own logic, which currently defeats me...but as usual it might be more fun and it might be an interesting move. But it could be also just a glitch as these cases lag...

  15. Tried to have some registered mail sent yesterday from the States to d'Phils. USPS isn't accepting any shipments here for the time being. Should have expected that but it was worth a try.
  16. If the people in our state wear mask like it matter like the Philippines are currently doing, our country won't be having this much number of cases.
  17. Are you saying he was actually trying to curry favour with the Indians? Pakistan will surely accept naan of that.
  18. Funny thing about that mixer, any time I have a new person I have to give them training on it make sure they are fully aware that the mixer turns the opposite way from the crank. If I don't, the first time they go to flip it over to dump on the left side they dump it right there on the right side.
  19. I'm guessing when the Cebu RAO shut down, Subic stopped sending and about the same time, Subic could no longer pick up from the embassy so the whole FPO system is jammed up. The embassy probably halted receiving non embassy mail as well. I think CC is going to have to go to reduced restrictions before the office can open again and start receiving mail. SO even when they do open, I wouldn't expect mail right away. I imagine meds and Kung Flu checks will be the highest priority.
  20. Legion takes a long overdue swing at PLDT!!!! Hooray. The statement came as strict stay-at-home rules are being observed in parts of the Philippines as the government's measure to control the spread of COVID-19. Students and workers have had to resort to virtual lectures and meetings as part of life under the "new normal." The tweet was taken down at 2:30 p.m., and the account's display name has been reverted to "PLDT Cares." In a statement, the network said it has recovered the account and assured customers that the security breach "did not affect PLDT's network and services." The internet provider countered the group's demand for better connectivity, saying that it has provided subscribers with speed boosts and higher data allocations for Fibr customers and Smart subscribers. "As a result, our customers have been using more extensively a wide range of data and digital services that have helped them cope with life under lockdown," PLDT said in a statement, noting that they invest heavily in their fiber and LTE networks. The hackers also earlier threatened that PLDT's rival, Globe Telecom, will be next on their agenda. This tweet has been deleted. https://cnnphilippines.com/business/2020/5/28/PLDT-Twitter-hack.html?fbclid=IwAR1YDZN4QONptdXuEdkniRYyIaO9fR_wowzPmqGs-iCkBBQXyYS128Q7Qrk

    Dogs

This is actually brilliant. (Mute suggested.) But I didn't have to go this extreme today. I just had my wife distract the dog with treats while I clipped. Still hard at first but she got used to it. Hopefully next time it won't be too hard. I may just stick a big glob of peanut butter in her mouth though.
  22. Well, the first step will be building the new one and then moving the soil pipe over. Not too bad there. Then we'll raise the lid up and see what we have to deal with. Probably a year before we do that. We lifted the lid on my caretaker's outhouse which has been used about the same time as mine and there really wasn't a lot in it. I looked at least halfway down and didn't see anything. I wanted to see the situation before putting hollow block walls around it. No point in doing that if was getting full.
  23. I'll make a point of asking if you're in the middle of that septic project before coming to your place for a coffee after Covid. If it was me I'd get one of those pumper trucks in, and use a power washer to wash as much of the sh*t to the bottom before the pumper truck finishes sucking it up and leaves. Then I'd pop off the top of the septic tank and go on vacation for a few weeks while it airs out. It's more fun in the Philippines.

Hi, Jim this is Lynette.  I just realize that you live in Tisa, Labangon.  I have a property there and very helpful nephew name Junie (09321037886 ) who has a car in Lower South Hills area.  If you need any help let me call him.  I already talk to him.  He knows a place where you can buy fresh produce (Carbon price) near Labangon.
