    Senior Citizens Discount for Foreigner

OK, Below is the link to the site I got my info. As it is dated 2019, I "assumed" (poor choice) it was correct and enacted into law. If I'm wrong I'll go back to my Knitting. Tab well down until it mentions foreigners. https://ofwmoney.org/senior-citizen/
  4. yeah - I'll believe it when I have them in my hands. I read that this morning - and naturally used the online availability checker ...... and got a "Not Available" still . Looking at the pic they used for the article ..... they print them on a very small production line and plate printer

That isn't quite right. The Philippines does not recognize citizenship solely by physical birth in the Philippines. If two foreigners give birth to a child in the Philippines, the child is NOT a Philippine citizen. The Philippines only recognizes citizenship due to at least one of the parents being a Philippine citizen at the time of birth (regardless of place of birth). A child can be born on the other side of the planet and still considered a Philippine citizen as long as one of the parents is a Philippine citizen (of course, the birth must be certified by a Philippine embassy and registered with PSA to qualify for citizenship if the birth takes place outside of the Philippines).

there is a senate bill to include aliens that indicates to me that that foreigners are NOT included in any of the senior citizens benefit laws

It does not clarify what a "citizen" is. To the best of my knowledge you have to be born here to a citizen. Or of a Filipino parent.

  21. I actually still have service back in the US. You might look at https://www.directvnow.com/ Again, a VPN is going to be mandatory for US content providers. As far as being secure, yes, provided you get a reputable one. All traffic to and from on a VPN is encrypted. I would highly recommend especially if using public wi-fi or accessing your bank accounts etc. While free VPN may be just fine, I would never use one as there is no incentive to keep your stuff private. Also some maintain server logs while others don’t. If there’s a log of what you’re doing, it’s not very private.

I don’t recall reading where this proposed bill made it out of committee.
  24. Well, I think it was added specifically to deny licenses for tourists. I don't think a tourist is supposed to be able to find a way around it. However, obviously some LTO offices have continued to allow tourists to convert a license.
