  2. Yeah, that little Subaru runs like a champ. I just have to remember to turn off the petcock when we turn it off because the float valve sticks a bit sometimes. Although it never does when I have the carb apart. And if we're not using it for a couple weeks I turn it off by the petcock so gas doesn't go bad and gum up the jet.
  3. One of the typical results is some memory loss so maybe or maybe not?
  4. So the little concrete mixer still works ok?

    The Lighter Side of Coronavirus

  7. Damn! Am I the only old, fat guy here who hasn't had a stroke or heart attack...
  8. Just before the lockdown, we finished the perimeter wall and about the same time I finished welding the back gate together for it. After lockdown I was looking for things to do so I installed the gate opener and got it working about 95% the way I want it. It runs off two motorcycle batteries in the gray box there that are recharged by the solar panel above. The panel is much larger than needed but it was the smallest I had available. I think it's maybe 120W? and the company that sold me the opener, etc. recommended 30W or so. One problem was the opener required 35V for the recharging ckt and the panel puts out only 17V so I bought a step up transformer on Lazada which is also contained in the grey box. Seems to be working well. My caretaker's grandkids run out to watch when I'm leaving. And when I get deliveries the drivers are looking around for who opened the gate. That gave us a way to go out if we need to and in the lockdown that wouldn't be much so I decided this would be a good time to cement our driveway. We had 12 sacks of cement left over from the wall I didn't want to waste so I got started welding up a grill for the rain gutter at the bottom of the driveway. That took me longer than it should but after it was done we started on it. The 12 bags didn't go as far as I wanted but I was able to get more cement and rebar delivered. In a day or two it will be ready to drive on. I decided I liked the look of the 2 cement sidewalks rather than a fully paved road and since the walls and the pump house make you drive only in the middle, paving across was a waste of material anyway. The gaps will be filled with dirt and then grass grown in the middle and maybe flowers along the edges or just grass. So that's what I've been doing and why I haven't been posting a lot. Next up is a real septic system and replumbing our current house to it. That will also be the septic for the new house. The current system is just a leach well and it's in the middle of where the new house will be. Not looking forward to digging into that but it's been sufficient for the 2 of us for like almost 10 years. Hahahahaha

  10. Down in Carcar City the PHLPOST is open - but no mail sent or received since mid March. I wish I had a job like that!
  11. Starting March 19, 2020 RAO Cebu was closed until further notice. Keep safe everyone
  12. Speaking of deliveries and RAO, I'm assuming RAO has been closed for the duration of this quarantine and no deliveries from Manila have been coming in? I have all my meds that I'm going to run out of in about 1.5 week if I don't get them from RAO. Anyone know what's going on with them? My wife has called both Ronnie and the number in their office and there's never an answer.
  13. I can not verify this, but rumor has it the pigeon had information about a coo. (ok...ok... my apologies).
  14. Sorry, but it knows too much.
  15. We had rats in the attic at the place we rented before moving in here. Actual rats. I saw them running across the power lines to the roof. When they had sex up there they sounded much larger, like monkeys or something. I through some poison up there and it quieted down a while but luckily the smell didn't come down into the house. The new house won't have that problem as the power will come underground into the garage. I'll post some pictures of the design when I get the roof finished and the septic on there.
  16. Phil at rao sent me a package thru lalamore from his base in mactan to me in talisay but i had to drive into cebu to receive it so still the usual confusion. But i still am very thankful to phil and rao for taking the time to care

  19. @Salty Dog In case no one else has yet said it, you’re doing a cracking job with these advisories. Thank you.
  20. I’m still waiting on a UPS package that arrived in Manila on May 13. Every few days I get an “exception” email which corresponds to a tracking entry that simply says “rescheduled for delivery”. My sister, who sent the package, called UPS. After some considerable hold time UPS suggested I go pick it up!😀 Sure. It’s only 200 miles with no flights and no passenger ferries. The last UPS package sent was handed to Air21 in Manila (local agent) so it looks like they’re having issues getting stuff to Masbate. I checked the LBCExpress website yesterday. They also don’t seem to promise anything for here.
