I will apply for a 3 month tourist visa for my 28yo girlfriend that is educated/employed while in Manila next month.
Can anyone reccommend a good agent and advise me of the costs involved please ?
Thought it would cost more than doing it ourselves but easier and more guarenteed.
Any advice ?
Cheers, Willy.

If cost is an issue then do your research online. Recommending a good agent is an oxymoron ;) It is a long lonely road but achievable. Do not buy the "required" documentation - bank balance, proof of house ownership etc etc - the cheapest and simplest way is to declare the truth and just comply with every request written by your Embassy and you will succeed.

just let her go to a travel agency in manila. My brother used one and they were quiet helpful. As long as your gf has all the necessary requirements like proof of income, bank accounts, etc. I do not think she will have a hard time. It will also be nice if you send your invitation and affidavit of support. ;) (btw, our mom is from bidwill, nsw)

Good luck!

I know a very good immigration/visa specialist for Australia and New Zealand, based in Manila, but I think it is against the forum rules to publicize his name on the forum?
If you would like to PM me, I can give you his details privately. We have used him, on numerous occaisions and he is very well versed in the laws of the Philippines, Australia, and New Zealand, and saves a lot of unnecessary headaches.

- let me speak for New Zealand - do NOT use an agent - do it yourself from the beginning as you will surely be the only one doing it at the end - of course the Agents can do it if the Filipina qualifies - and if the Filipina was qualified then they would not need an Agent - the usual scam is if they "qualify" then supplementary documentation is required like prove of job retention, minimum bank balance, proof of house ownership etc etc and there is a whole industry selling these fake documents - if you buy them and present them then they are recognised as "fraudulent" and you lose more money and time - just read the regulation, file the truth and eventually they run out of paperwork - then you will get your visa - also be warned that after arriving in NZ if she leaves without getting a Residency Visa then you cannot reapply for at least 2 years to start the whole process of re-entry again. The length of the relationship is only taken from 12 months - AFTER your marriage - if any one wants to tells you any thing different simply ask them to show you their successful documentation
