UK Passport renewal from overseas.

Recommended Posts

I remember a few years ago, applying for my replacement Irish passport from their London office.  I was in London at the time.

After a few weeks of nothing I rang them on the landline, and was told they would call me back within the day.

They called me back the next day, and said that my application form was there, but it hadn't been filled in - "I see", said I, "and where did you get my mobile telephone number then?"

Got the passport within the week.

My son has just done his first adult passport renewal.

The online application was done on the 30th January 2015.

The various documents, photos etc were sent by DHL on the 5th February 2015.

Today @ 1100hrs, 27th February 2015, the new 10 year passport arrived on my doorstep.

A turnaround of three weeks from document dispatch to receiving the replacement passport is impressive.

Glad to read that the 'system' appears to have improved greatly. Much public outcry from within the UK and abroad over such long delays last year.

Lets us hope that the UK passport office continues to maintain this time frame.

I have a question.

Once I pay, and print off the form,

Have I also paid for the courier fee from Cebu to the UK.

How do I send the documents and application from Cebu? Do I take it down to the DHL office?

No you haven't - you need to pay LBC or another to send the stuff from Cebu to the UK...

I am in the process of renewing my uk passport today.

Filled up the online form and printed off the declaration form.

Included my current uk passport.

Now as for the supporting docs i provided my phil health card plus my original mdr. It did say this your health card is sufficient proof of residence.

Plus a  copy of my icard.

I was wondering do i need to send any letter with it explaining why im applying from abroad or no need?

Also will they return my old uk passport. I need it to transfer mg visa stamps.

Anyone which courier is best to go with?

I was thinking UPS.

Just go for it and yes send it ups as you don't want your passport lost in post. If they want more info they will contact you but there is no way of knowing if they are satisfied other than sucking it and see...you should get your old passport back along with the new one but the old one will be clipped.
