The speed these girls move at is incredible

55 posts in this topic

The biggest challenge is for guys who cannot live there for awhile.  They turn to the internet both for speed and convenience.  Which can work if a fellow is careful and as things progress have pointman check them out.   There will always be surprises whether your in person or online after people are living together.  My last gf in the US was a completely different person after the 2nd year and had to go.  Or maybe I just didn't see it and it was already there.

When a guy has 2 weeks to a couple months to meet a girl and make a decision things will move fast.  So if he is 30-40 range he is taking a risk meeting and marrying quickly.  Yet what is the available pool of gals in that age range back home?  Divorced, bitter, 2-3 kids, and looking for sugar daddy no less than the 20 year old there.  At least worst case he's getting a young pretty gold digger, and if he's careful he's just getting young, pretty, gold.

A scam is a scam, long term or short. Maybe best to be satisfied with the fact you are actually free to move on.

The speed these girls move at is incredible. I think I have been through the beggining, middle, and end of a relationship in 3 months. We went through the infatuation period, the every day life stage, and then the realising we are not meant to be together stage, all in 3 months! But, may I add, it was her actions that drove those stages. Anyway, that's not important: the point is, I have found from chatting to many girls online that they want to move at a very fast pace. Any tips on getting them to slow down?

yes tell them your broke

They aren't all after money. I live month to month (income wise) here. But my Filipina wife of 4 years seems love me regardless of my financial situation. So far so good.... careful and lucky.

the traditional philippino woman is almost a thing of the past.

Tv and movies and their friends have ruined that.

Maybe if u are a local and courting a girl that is what will be.

Here u are hot property. I met my gf and it took a little while to get to know her.

She was not to keen to go to quick.

U are meeting girls on the internet that are probably chatting to 20 to 30 guys that day.

What do u expect?

When I was single in fuente hell that was fun.  If u want a girl to slow down u need to meet that type of girl. They are out there. Screw dating sites.

Get boots on the ground. Actually live here and get to know the culture.

If a girl sleeps with me within the first few meetings well I know it will not last that long as how many other kano has she met and slept with ( oh no im special, i'm different)

I used to be a serial pest up mango( until the lady boy epedemic of 2012) hard to meet a decent girl out at the drinking and dancing places.

Go to malls. Go shopping in area's not alot of kano go. Meet a woman with a job that is not just looking for a pay day.

I once dated a girl that within three days had moved in... took me a year to get rid of her... but what a fun year it was.

That's not the way it's done now.

There's no time; must do it the easy way.

The relationship is staged and locked on line.

You send money.  She starts paperwork.

You make quick token visit. Paperwork

You send money. She or attorney does paperwork.

Girl delivers herself to nearest airport.

Live happily everafter.

It's not for me, but I've seen it actually work.

Another reason for a quiet Fuente?

Best advice I have seen on here so far is "find one that has a job" Believe me most aren't together enough to ever hold a job more than a couple months. Those that cant aren't the keepers.

I'm looking for a particular steel (might also come in aluminum) product but know that without a "sample" I'm going to be pretty much SOL finding it here without knowing the real name of it or at least having a picture.  So I think if I describe it here maybe someone will known the name or perhaps a brand name or something.   Here goes...  Take a piece of heavy gauge 1.25" square bar.  Remove about  a 3/4" wide strip from the middle of one side and curl the 2 cut edges back towards the opposite side.  Then down the opposite side put a line of say 3/8" holes all the way down.  Maybe every 5th hole is a double so it's like 3/8"X3/4" slot.  I thought this was called speed bar or rack bar or something like that but Google isn't helping.  What's it called?

I finally had a chance to eat at Cru steakhouse in the Marriott Manila. I heard a few references from our friend @miles-high and thought I would check it out.  Sorry Miles, I was severely disappointed. The wine list was horrible, I mean it was dismal. Come on. They ran out of the best wine on the list after one bottle. I asked if there was a sommelier on staff and the manager came over and informed me they were about to re-do the wine list, "maybe in June or July". What a joke! The wine list was shit. This place is supposed to be "the best" so if you want to be the best then have something other than  a $25 Mondavi Cabernet on the list as a feature. Horrible wine list. I can buy better at Rustans. On this occasion it wasn't about cost, and well,  they couldn't deliver. We asked for a proprietor's list, and it didn't exist. In fact the 'manager' didn't even understand what a "proprietor's list " was. I had to explain it to her. How embarrassing for her, and Marriott.  Regardless it was horrible. I don't mind paying 4-5 or hey, lets get on it and spend 10 times retail for a really good bottle of wine. After all it is allegedly the best steak house in Manila. Well, not even close!  They tried selling me a $25 bottle of Robert Mondavi available in every Walgreens  for 15k PHP. What a load of shit. The best bottle for value  on the menu was an Aussie Shiraz and they only had one bottle available. OK so moving on past the wines, after all its a steakhouse, right? So what about the steaks? Sous vide for the steaks with reverse sear tastes different than a properly cooked steak. I was NOT impressed at all. This was probably the worst experience I've had at a signature Marriott restaurant anywhere in the world.  Avoid at all costs and save your pesos boys. That was a complete waste of my time and money. I could do better getting pissed up at home, with a few  run of the mill steaks from Kroger and about 30 minutes of my time in my outdoor kitchen.  What a huge disappointment. The staff were great but they can only do so much. I blame the food/bev manager at Marriott for this disaster.  Never again starts my thoughts on Cru Steakhouse Manila.
