We're maybe 10ft higher and on the same ridge.
His septic will be on the other side of his lot, and He's the one I'm waiting to close the road so I can rebuild my fence on the other side to reclaim it. He's going to put in a common gate and eventually and electronic opener with clickers for all of us.

The plan is for the 3 lots, to remain more of a common compound though there will be fencing to keep the critters under control.

critters?

Critters! For some reason one of the Filipina neighbors is quite afraid of them.

In mindanao the city was drilling a well, but it was a truck with p-t-o on the side. The one i saw in your photo, what turns the drill, the motor is to raise and lower the drill right? So what turns the drill, man power? :scratch_head:

man power?

Yep. The drill is really a giant spud bar with winch raising it and dropping it. The other guy turns it. At first, maybe 20ft, by hand. Then in this pic you see they had a very hard wood handle they bolted to the drill:

The guy standing is resting his hands on it.  Now the guy cranks on it with a large monkey wrench.

After pounding a while they pour some water in and pull the whole drill out which is taking longer and longer.  Then they run a dipper (for lack of a better term) down the hole.  The dipper is about a 5 foot length of 2.5" or 3" pipe with a butterfly valve in the bottom.  That goes down and the guy pulls the rope a few times to get the valve to close.  Originally they were pulling it up by hand but now use the winch.  When he dumps it, it is mostly very runny slurry and he pounds it a few times to get muck and rocks out.  He checks to make sure the valve is clear and then sends it down again.  Sometimes it comes up empty because a stone is stuck in the valve.  Eventually, hopefully soon, he'll pull up some clean water.
