PhilHealth for foreigners

Look closely into what it actually covers, and the quality of hospitals and care one will get for Philhealth pricing.

Yeah - this is a funky subject, to be sure...

I clicked on a cigna link and they wanted an outrageous price - something like $700 / month.  What can I get for $320 / year?  Maybe I can afford that - lol.

Would you break it down for me?  I was reading those pages of posts and did not see anything in detail?

Thanks :)

Did you have any insurance, at all?  If you had PhilHealth, would that have covered it?

Insurance in the Philippines usually does not cover preexisting conditions, so good luck. A friend has Caritas for around $100 a month but it too does not cover PEC during the first year and then has limits.

I pay more than $200/month for my "free" medicare and supplement, now...

How do they know what conditions exist?

There's not much wrong with my body.  My mind... well, that's another story :)

Computers talk to each other, so your medical records from your home country insurance should be available for them to check and if you lie on the application and they find out, then nothing is covered.
