Venue for Baby's First Birthday Party

12 posts in this topic

We're looking for someplace for my daughter's first birthday party in August. I would like to do it where there is something for the parents to do (such as a swimming pool or something like that). We are planning to have a lunch with the party, so we will need someplace with either a restsaurant or where a caterer can set up. Lastly, some of the guests won't have vehicles, so we need something that is fairly easy to find and accessible to public transportation. I already thought of Sand Trap as one possibility. Are there any other suggestions?

yes the first birthday is the big one here and then its normal until coming of age etc. No expense spared I think I got away cheap for ours, hired the club house and pool then catering service for 60 plus no change from 30thou

Yeah, I've seen some really over the top 1st birthday parties here. When I was in Bacolod there was one at the hotel I was at and there must have been a hudred people there and the presents went out on a full luggage cart.

There must have been a bunch of Kanos at the party. Most Filipinos will just go for the food but won't bring a gift for the baby.

I would look at the smaller hotels who have a roof top swimming pool.

I think the ... plaza on ramos has one, and the mango park? on mango. park lane on escario is also possible but maybe more expensive. they have a function area beside the pool

You could probably get exclusive usage, which you might find expensive at sandtrap.

you also try the cebu country golf club. they might let you use the pool.

Actually, I didn't see any kanos there but didn't go looking around. I was thinking it was probably a political figure of some sort.

I guess by the time ours was a year old, I was already VERY VERY tired of my wife's family constantly expecting us to throw a big party and feed all of them and get them drunk, so since it's only about the adults, we just got some food and drinks, and my wife went over to her ma's house and fed them all.

Gifts????? right

My wife's birthday is 2 months away, and already, they are asking what is she going to feed them for HER birthday.

When our son is 3 or 4, I will give HIM a little party

I know I will get some flack about this comment, but I always have walked to the beat of a differnt drum, and never been one to do something just because everyone else does it.
