Is anyone familiar with the laws regarding pepper spray in the Philippines? Is it available, is it legal for expats to carry?

Thanks in advance!

Now that's a great idea is It legal to carry. I have had the unfortunate experience of being sprayed a very effective deterrent

Pepper spray is like bringing a knife to a gun fight ... If you spray it on anyone local and your lucky you will most likely just be deported and if un lucky ... say hello to the fan knife..

My personal advice here is, don't carry it, don't use it, don't buy it.

For about eight years now, I have only had 2 incidents where someone pulled a weapon on me. One guy pulled a gun. In the other incident, another pulled a knife. Neither one was brave enough to use either weapon. Or, perhaps I was just lucky in both cases. You call it.

Buddy of mine is a rowdy drunk. He got wild (again) in a pool hall awhile back and it went outside. A couple of punches and the other guy was down. He got up and pepper sprayed my friend in the eyes. The guy had it on his key chain just like a college girl. Last I saw as we sped away the paramedics were mopping the other guy up. Not a good deterrent against a practiced thug.

The last thing im looking for is trouble ... but its hard to aim a gun when you cant see.. as for being a girl have you ever been sprayed :any-help: it makes you cry like a girl ... a small advantage is all it takes but I will take your advice ... no spray and keep my eyes open for trouble .. thx for your advice :biggrin_01:
