Direct flight Cebu to Bangkok?

10 posts in this topic

I have been doing searches online but cannot find any flights that take less than 6 + hours.  The flight time is actually noted to be 3 hours +, so I do not know how that gets stretched to 6+.  Anyone have experience flying Cebu to Bangkok?  Thanks ahead.

There are currently no direct flights between Bangkok and Cebu, without travelling via Manila.

Cebu Pacific used to  offer direct flights to BKK from Cebu, but that service was cancelled about two years ago... and CP gave me a refund for my ticket.

However, at the present time, you can get to BKK from Cebu without going through Manila. AirAsia for example offers a connecting service through Kuala Lumpur.... but that flight departs Mactan at 7am,  a tad early for my liking....

The budget carrier Thai Smile was supposed to re-open the Bangkok to Cebu route on May 1st but it got postponed..

According to the news report, this direct service should be operating by July 1, if the Phils side can get it sorted...

That is indeed good news. A direct flight could save Cebu travellers around 2 or 3 hours on the trip to BKK.

Lets see if Cebu can sustain a direct flight to Bangkok..bets are it cannot.    Perhaps Ceb pac should by some baby jets that are economical like the Embraer  http://www.embraercommercialaviation.com/Pages/Ejets-175.aspx.     Cheaper operating costs with fewere seats and crew members neeeded.

That still isn't a direct flight.  I can get a flight with Emirates to Bangkok, but it will still have to go via Dubai.  Lets hope someone offers a direct service both ways soon. :)

Yes we are hoping for that Luke. But I would NOT recommend to LinC members planning a trip from Cebu to Bangkok to go all the way from Cebu to the Middle East first. Tlhere are much shorter time/distance options... and Google is our friend, right?

But it doesn't go through Manila which is the prime directive.

A manila transfer on Cebu Pacific is Easy Peasy.. evrything all in Terminal 3 .. which is actually quite nice.. much better than that squatter airport in KL (the budget one which is 70% outdoors.
