Random Notes observations:

If Kap was a Tier 1 QB (which he thinks he is).. he would be signed even if he stood butt naked with a clenched fist during the national anthem.   Kap would do well in the Canadian Football league.  Seriously.

I wish Kap would be traded to an Australian Rules football team...

where they would elbow and pound the living crap outta him...

legally of course   :yahoo:

Raiders will never change their name.    That would be like rebranding Coke.

Naw. What were the Tennessee Titans called before? How about dem Bears? Do you know what they were called before they moved to Chicago? There have been other examples as well in the NFL. There is plenty of precedence for renaming a team when it is moved to a new city. You want a name that will tie the team to its new fan-base (or at least work well with the city name). Name changes are even more common in the other professional leagues (baseball, basketball and hockey).

Not renaming the Raiders may have been one reason why they failed in Los Angeles. They were still seen as Oakland's team. There are reasons for NOT renaming a team, but they mostly have to do with not having enough cash to cover the costs of rebranding (new logo, new uniforms, new advertising, etc.). In the case where they are building a new stadium in the new city, the costs of renaming the team are inconsequential.

well now Bill,  you got a point some teams do change their names when  they move..but mostly its for good reason that original brand name sucked or was never successful. ie... The Houston Oilers were a miserable brand with a small market  before they moved to Tennessee.. rebranded as the Titans and promptly went to the SuperBowl..  The Bears.. i dont know who they were.. but we all who the ARE.. they will nver change their Name.    The  Baltimore Colts ... shamelessly moved to  Indianapolis for a new stadium and  took their  Famous Colts brand   and Payton Manning and became a powerhouse contender.  (Can you Imagine if they had  have changed there brand to the Indianapolis 500's  as some suggested? )  When the Cleveland Browns left  Cleveland to fill the void left at Baltimore... The City of Cleveland sued the ownership to keep the naming rights of the "Browns" for a future team to  come in... hence we have the Baltimore Ravens -- perhaps Cleveland should have let the "Browns"   walk and begin with a fresh brand..heheh.   The arrival of the jet age allowed   In Baseball the hugely successful  Brooklyn Dodgers to pack up to LA.    The experiment was worked.. but it probably wouldn't have  if they had rebranded.    On the other hand  the lowly Washington Senators Brand ... moved to  DFW  to become the Texas Rangers..  which worked..    A strange move in the NBA  were the New Orleans JAZZ  that moved to Salt Lake City to become the UTAH JAZZ..  If  any team should have rebranded it  should have been the JAZZ ...but  no they kept their TradeMark ..     So the RAIDERS which is one of the Most Iconic  Brands and most marketable in the NFL (Its also pretty cool looking)  to  Rebrand  in Vegas  to something  silly like the "Gamblers"  ( USFL Houston  team)   would be errrr   sickening  to  NFL Fans and a really poor business  decision. IMHO of  course.

Just read Romo retired and is going to take Simms' job in the booth.  I can't be happier.  If I ever heard the words crappy announcer or something to that effect, Simms' face would spring to mind.  Romo would have to study hard to be worse
