Seems like they are leaving nothing unchecked... one shooter only... the guy outside the building who was shot in the arm, apparently was shot inside with everyone else and he ran outside.

Sounds like things are winding down on the scanner feed. Maybe the reports of shots being fired and additional shooters were a result of a tense situation the large amount of people to keep track of at the airport.

Could the shooter have been programmed to do the shooting... I believe brainwashing is possible in this day and age, do you?

Ft. Lauderdale shooting suspect made confused visit to FBI, said US intelligence forced him to watch ISIS videos

Estaban Santiago, the 26-year-old airline passenger accused of shooting up a baggage claim area at the Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood airport Friday, leaving five dead and eight injured, visited the FBI Anchorage field office and told officers he was being forced to watch ISIS videos, law enforcement sources told Fox News.

The visit took place last November. The sources said Santiago told agents that US intelligence had infiltrated his mind and were forcing him to watch ISIS propaganda videos.

In addition, the sources told Fox that Santiago appeared agitated and incoherent during that interview, clearly indicating he was suffering from some kind of mental condition.

After the contact with Santiago, the FBI called local authorities who took custody of him and brought him to a local hospital for a welfare check.

Yes the airport is a gun free zone but there are no metal detectors there, YET.

do you think metal detector would have helped here ?

The man, who was wearing a Star Wars T-shirt, had travelled from Alaska, officials said. He checked in an unloaded gun and ammunition with his luggage, and loaded the semi-automatic gun in the bathroom after landing and collecting his bag.

Flying with firearms is legal in the US as long as the guns are kept in a locked, hard-sided container as checked baggage only, under rules of the Transport Security Administration (TSA). Ammunition is also allowed only in checked luggage.

In this case NO (I was answering Smokey's question) because he already had the firearm in his checked luggage. If reports are true, then in this case he never should have been allowed to check a firearm with no other personal items, who travels to another state with just a firearm and no other items, at the very least he should have been questioned as to his purpose for traveling with a firearm. I am all for gun rights and I have traveled with firearms too but it sure would not hurt if anyone who is traveling with a firearm is questioned as to why, would that have stopped him, who knows but if he is unstable then a trained person questioning him might have seen that.
