What's this bed?

The bed frame here:

from Houzz. Was asked but nobody seems to know. Anyone came across such beauty before?

 

 

Looks foldable and light enough to carry or ship. Probably inexpensive too? Just MDF with leather? or Styrofoam?

imho, i have found the frame is more important than the mattress

 

we have a heavy duty bamboo frame with a mandaue foam mattress, best sleep ever

Looks like something they sell in Japan and call a futon.

the original ones in Japan? or western style? I have seen futon mattress somewhat like resembling but no headboard.

 

imho, i have found the frame is more important than the mattress

Just looks like a modern ground level frame with a regular matress.

Looks groovy but personally i like to be up higher when dragging my stiff ass out of bed in the morning.

Just thinking would be hard to get out of bed..takes an hour or so for all my old bones to get in sinc..better to fall out than have to climb up..

It's a futon. Lived in Japan and the one I had for the last 6 years had a head board.

Are you sure futon means the frame? I searched amazon.co.jp for futon and all I got is the foam-like "布団", no headboard or hard frame. :idontknow:
