  7. Correct, travel sanctions were removed in June 2016 but it does not change the fact that many Russian tourists are skeptical of going to Turkey. The figures for 2016 speak for themselves: 600,000 vs. expected 4,500,000.
  8. There is obviously a connection between administration in Manila's persistent statements against US and Philippine approaches to Russia. A friend of mine, a former Russian citizen, now work and live here in Denmark, has told me that Russia is working hard to get links to the Philippines expanded and strengthened significantly because Russia is seeking new partners in all fields, as directly and follow of Western sanctions against Russia. My friend will not be surprised if Russian tourists in relatively large numbers, will travel to the Philippines, especially after the Russians' favorite destination, Turkey is no longer as attractive as before the shooting of the Russian fighter jet at the Syrian / Turkish border. Despite the financial crisis in Russia, there are still many Russians who can afford to travel abroad. We must wait and see .....
