  1. I recently ordered an Omega 2 which is similar to Raspberry and compatible with Arduino. Its a $5 Linux Server and comes with a base program and wifi. Addon boards and accessories also. I am planning on experimenting with Home Automation using "OpenHab" Its due to arrive in early December. https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/omega2-5-linux-computer-with-wi-fi-made-for-iot#/
  2. Netflix is now legally available in the Philippines and 130 other new countries as of yesterday. I guess I can cancel my VPN service now. Yippee Netflix Is Now Available Around the World
  3. They are shipping to a relatives house in Cebu City and I will collect it from there as I wasn't sure about delivery to the province. As Paul says, this is a brand new product line and they obviously changed tack just prior to production from an 800 W unit to 1000 W. I was in no hurry to get it so all good. I won't be setting it up until Christmas but will post some pictures and results then.
  4. I definitely ordered an 800 watt unit but I think they upgraded the model to 1000 watt prior to production which was why there was a production delay. I noticed now on their website that the 800 watt unit is gone. The 800 watt unit was $149 and the 1000 Watt is listed as $199 so I’m very happy with that upgrade.
  5. I ordered an 800 watt SunRaiden unit in August complete with 2 LED lighting kits but the delivery was delayed due to a new production run> They advised me last week that they have upgraded it to a 1000 watt unit and it will be arriving next week so will let you know how it goes. I am setting it up as an emergency backup supply for charging phones and providing some lighting, more as an experiment at the moment.
  6. Kanyoen Japanese restaurant next door to Castle Peak. I go there every visit to Cebu and never disappoints. After dinner, go across the road to the jazz & blues club for an interesting evening.
  7. Very windy in Kawit (northern Cebu) two fishing boats were swamped this morning. Seems they weren't expecting Glenda to affect this far south.
  8. Definitely Kinilaw and also love Bicol Express
  9. Just read this today in the Cebu daily news. http://cebudailynews.inquirer.net/2014/04/21/security-guard-kills-british-dive-shop-operator-during-black-saturday-confrontation/ Doesn’t pay to fight with a drunk carrying a gun
  10. Kawit Beach, Northern Cebu
  11. Has passed over our house in Kawit at around !0:00am, no power or phones. Report from Danbantayan is the roofs are flying everywhere. Has now made landfall on Bantayan Island
  12. I go to Kawit and the Aircon fare is P150, the standard fare was around 75 from memory.
  13. About half of the buses going to Hagnaya or Danbantayan are now aircon, If you go to the Northern Bus terminal at least every second bus will be an aircon one. I regularly go there around 5:30 − 6am and always get one.
  14. Fantastic post, the funniest things in life are true. I was having a difficult day at the office but now laughfing my head off. I'm sure with your sense of humour you will survive.
