  1. Strongbow 130 pesos/can from Mike Stokes!!
  2. Emerald in Talamban has it or you can order direct from Mike Stokes ( see his Facebook page) for online shopping.
  3. http://xuka.tv/category/by-genre/drama/a-conspiracy-of-faith-2016-12533.html Danish movie with subtitles, watch it today good movie worth a watch.
  4. S&R it will cost 700 pesos to join before he can shop unless he goes with a member and I have not seen any tvs there within his budget
  5. Try OLX website there's lots of cheap ones on there.
  6. Have always bought carrier and intend to to so, however the last one we bought was carrier gold inverter split type, 2 years nearly to the day it started to blow warm. Technician found that the compressor was corroded and the gas was leaking. Fortunately the compressor was covered for 5 years warranty and was replaced foc but cost us 8000 pesos to recharge with freon. Technician had never seen a compressor fail like that after only 2 years, defective compressor was returned to Carrier for examination and analysis
  7. Only had extractions (3) 1000 pesos. I should add will be going back in 2 to 3 weeks for impression for pallet but didn't ask for price at the moment.
  8. Went to Real Dent in Talamban this morning and had 3 teeth extracted. I should add that I am very nervous of dentists since having a bad experience when I was a kid, however the dentist there May-z was very caring and professional and explained everything as she went about extracting my teeth and all was very painless. She has restored my confidence in Dentists and would not hesitate to go back for further treatment if needed. 2nd floor,Piazza Elesia (opposite eurobar) Talamban. 0917 7005149
  9. Went to Kiwi for lunch yesterday with the missus as I fancied pie and chips. I had steak and bacon pie with chips, wife had spaghetti bologna's, very disappointing to say the least, pie was very dry and crust overcooked, gravy that thick it could have been used as wallpaper paste, wife complained that cheese topping had no taste and couldn't eat it. We pointed out to the waitress regarding the meals and she replied " thats how the foreigners like it here". I know it was up for sale and for what we were told by the staff today that they hadn't had a buyer yet, we used to be regulars there when Dick was running the place but now it is crap. We were the only ones eating there (12.30) and 3 or 4 guys having a drink and natter. Needless to say we will not be going back
  10. My wife and I are going to Ho Chi Minh for a break (1 week) 2nd week of October and would welcome any advice on what to see and where to go, we intend to exchange enough money at the airport on arrival for taxi to the hotel and other incidentals for a couple of days as I assume there are money exchanges available as there are here. Any other advice, recommendations and warnings would be gratefully appreciated. Thank You in advance. Dave
  11. Yes that's correct,however it depends on your contract of employment,mine was 60 hours/week.
  12. I worked in KSA twice, both times in Jubail on the East Coast as HSE Manager on large construction projects. Each time based in European compounds with good food and amenities including gym and swimming pools. Accommodation was excellent. Really good place to work and salary in the range of GBP150K a year tax free with rotation 6 weeks on 2 weeks off and business class flight paid to and from Philippines. Stayed there for almost 3 years in total so managed to save quite a bit of cash towards my retirement. Shopping is good in particular for electronics and all tax free. Only downside was the lack of availability of alcohol, but its there if you know where to go and female company in public is non existent. Day off once a week always a Friday and did sea fishing with some good catches as well. Never had any problems with locals and enjoyed my stay compared to some other countries I have worked in.
