  1. I also went back again today and managed to speak directly to the regional director for Philhealth. I pointed out that other foreigners in different parts of the Philippines had managed to pay 3 years in advance, so why was it not possible in laguna. He said the staff members have given there foreigner members the wrong information and it will be corrected at a later date when/if they have to make a claim. Without the correct payment they will not release the MDR (medical data record) to make a refund claim at the hospital. Anyway, i still plan to take a seperate plan fof myself, as 1400 a month aint going to break the bank.
  2. We supply several stores in the large malls throughout the philippines and some places have a markup of up to 400%,. The lowest i have seen is 60%. Guess the big boss isnt always telling there managers the truth.
  3. I went to the head office in laguna and even spoke to the top dog. Guess i need to head down south. With flights and a hotel i could still save around 30k!
  4. Where does it state you can pay 3 years in advance at 2400 per year? I went yesterday and they told me it was 17k per year even if i payed before july 1.
  5. If they are over 60 and have worked for you a long time, i would imagine the SSS payments you made on their behalf and a free house would more than enough. You did pay their SSS?
  6. Wonder if it was a large labia!
  7. According to the map, people from Pakistan and Afghanistan are more tolerant of another race than Filipino's. Another bullshit survey.
  8. To me that has nothing to do with racism, rather more to do with her managing to get a better price than you. . I normally tell the wife to disappear when i want to haggle, as she gives in way to easily.
  9. Lucky you. I rely solely on my Philippine license, as the British government does not renew the licenses of its citizens who are not resident in the country.
  10. Eh? Funny i was sitting drinking with a group of around 15 foreigners just the other day in the municipality of Nagcarlan which is next to Victoria. By the way 3 of the guys were ex marine US MCA.
  11. You are not the only foreigner living in Victoria. You need to get out more, as there are plenty of foreigners living in Victoria, Pila, Santa Cruz, Los Banos. I also live in a 4th class municipality and the grading has nothing to do with the quality of life for its residents.
  12. Rice Cooker. I find the old fashioned way of cooking rice time consuming.
  13. Not sure if the price is competitive with other insurance companies, but my wife recently made a claim using her Fortune car insurance and it was dealt with efficiently and professionally. https://www.fgeninsurance.com/
  14. Making a molehill out of mountain comes to mind. The original poster asked a simple question and the first couple of answers were from members who knew the answer. I agree with Headshot and Monsoon and i exit on a 13a visa at least twice a year.
  15. We have used a managers cheque's from Metrobank on numerous occasions without any problems.
