The last weekend of this month (July 30 / 31), Steve and I will be moving the forums to another server.

There have just been far too many issues with the current host.

We will keep the members posted regarding this move, as it develops.

Thanks,

What continent are you hosting this site in?
What host are you using currently and which are you moving to?

you need any boxes or bubble wrap?

With a cheery smile and a wave of his hand he wandered off to an unknown land.

Not all those who wander are lost.

I'm using one that I don't wish to advertise, due to the number of issues we have had. I am going to go with Host Gator.

I'm just tired of dealing with issues that should not be occurring.

I know of a server on Sirius, but the download times really suck unless your router works with light-speed...

I used to have an open mind but my brains kept falling out.
is this thing on?

I have used GoDaddy and never had a problem with downtime at all, every. Inexpensive and very good support 24-7.

HostGator is excellent. Very popular with several of my internet marketing friends.
Love the fact that it has CPanel, Fantastico and you can install Wordpress in a snap.

Well, I'm not much of a blogger, but that is good to know if I want to go that route.

I have been using Cpanel for a long time, myself. I like it quite a bit. In fact, we were considering another host, currently rated number one on a few sites, but they didn't offer Cpanel, so Host Gator was the next best option for us.

Our clients websites are hosted on sharkspace..they offer the same service as HG...only difference is the response time to any query is a guaranteed 15 minutes but they usually give reply in 5 minutes. I went with them cos of excellent customer service. They also have cpanel. Hostgator is also good. only difference between them i would say is response time to queries..rest all is pretty much the same

Pricing is a bit different. But, if you are guaranteed responses in 10 to 15 minutes, that is pretty damned good.

That, in fact, is another reason for changing. Sometimes we have to wait several hours before the current host gets back with us.

As of noon(Philippine Time), July 31st, we will take the forum offline and begin moving everything. Hopefully the move will not take long. Once the forum is moved, what may take a while is the new DNS to filter. This means that you may not regains access for around 12 hours depending on where you are in the world.

Maybe a dumb question but can you give us the new site IP so we can just plug it in directly rather than bothering with the DNS? Maybe I'm oversimplifying?

You can't hide Paul. No matter where you go I will find you. (Is it my breath?) :biggrin_01:

I used to think I was paranoid then I realized everyone was out to get me.

A fool and his money are soon parted. (Ever wonder how they got together in the first place?)
