British national and family ambushed; 2 teeners dead

TWO teenagers were found dead in the highway of Balamban town just as a British man and his family reported they were ambushed in the area by two men on a motorcycle.

While members of the Provincial Intelligence Branch (PIB) were investigating the ambush on Frank Richard Bell, 60, and his family past 3 p.m. Sunday, the Balamban Police Station was also busy trying to find out the circumstances surrounding the death of two teenagers found in Barangay Cansumoroy.

Acting Cebu Provincial Police Office (CPPO) Director Erson Digal said they are waiting for the results of an autopsy to find out if the teenagers were shot.

He said there were wounds that appeared to be caused by a gunshot but said only a medico-legal officer could say for sure.

The two were identified as Marlon Allan Flores Borja, 19, and Harold Flores, 17, his cousin.

Initially, Bell said that when two men on a motorcycle shot at his vehicle, he ran them over and sped towards Cebu City without checking to see what happened to them.

Bell’s Kia Sorento had five bullet holes. He also suffered some injuries on his face. One of the bullets shot through the top part of his windshield and shattered the glass.

Digal said Borja’s father claimed his son had an affair with Bell’s Filipino wife Juriza.

Borja and Flores, who hailed from Toledo City, had asked permission to go to Balamban.

Witnesses said they were seen standing by the road when the Kia Sorento passed by.

They quickly hopped on their motorcycle and followed the van.

Bell said that as he was driving to Cebu City, the motorcycle with two men overtook his vehicle from the left side and suddenly shot at the vehicle. This was corroborated by witnesses, who claimed they heard gunshots just as the motorcycle got close to the Sorento.

Bell said that he hit them and then drove straight to Cebu City to report the shooting to the police.

The two were found sprawled on the concrete. A team from the Scene of the Crime Operations recovered a motorcycle, two helmets, one of which was broken, three empty shells fired from a .45 pistol and their personal belongings. No gun was found.

PIB Chief Rodolfo Albotra said that they will invite Bell, Juriza, and their daughter’s nanny Majessa Alcover to give their statements.

For now, he said they could not consider Bell a suspect yet because he was a complainant. (MEA)

well they have to look at the possibility that some how some way the foreigner was to blame ... maybe the young boy toys family will sue the foreigner and say it was his fault because it was his wife that caused the problem in the first place... the foreigner must be guilty of something, how about reckless driving

They got what they deserved. Now, he has one other thing to do here. He needs to kick the wife to the curb.

You know, the one who probably planned this?

Sounds like you're right Paul. They had to have inside info though she could always claim she'd mentioned their itinerary just in passing. If they were shot it was probably by whoever picked up the gun and didn't want any witnesses. I'm amazed they were able to find the spent rounds. I'm sure the scrap value is several pesos each.

Can't possible prosecute him for wreckless driving either, he seems to have done great!

well least the guy is still alive and kicking for now

might be a good time to start locking away funds though

With a cheery smile and a wave of his hand he wandered off to an unknown land.

Not all those who wander are lost.

I think they need Agatha Christie or Kojak on this one.
It appears that 1 shot went thro the windscreen and there were 5 bullet holes in the bodywork.
It sounds like all shots in the pistol were fired.
So if the culprits were found to have been shot also, then there are two missing guns involved,me thinks. Posted Image

Wonder where he is sleeping tonight?

I would be in a hotel in HK tonight (or at least Manila), if I was him. Far out of reach of the wife, or her lover's family.

Of course this wasn't planned at all by the wifey. They just happened to waiting by the right road, on the right day, at the right time, with a loaded gun.

Only a revolver would have 6 rounds. Guns with clips have at least 7 rounds, and any self respecting gun owner would buy a 15 round clip.

If the wife is involved, then he should make an exit plan to leave.

From another article.

Bell was with his Filipina wife Juriza Mahinay Bell, 28; their daughter Savanna Katrina Bell, four years old; and the nanny, Majessa Alcover.

If? How many of the family members, other than he, her, the nanny, and their child, would have known where they would be, when they would be?

Or, were those two guys just psychic? :voodoo: :D

My money says she was texting them while they were en route to that location.

Ha Ha we can be sure they would not want to kill him for no peso.
The wife would have access to funds, and is probably the one to benefit most by his demise.

Maybe he is hiding out in Cebu City, you can pretty much lose yourself there if you stay in your hotel,or staying with a friend, low profile.

Like i tell my wife,if you ever want rid of me,just tell me,you can keep the rented house,i will pay you a small sum of peso to tide you over, but i'm no use to you dead, your not a UK citizen,so my pension is not tranferrable,i'm worth more alive LOL. Posted Image

Who would setup a hit on her husband while putting her own life in jeprody. These guys were not amazing shots, and nobody would while shooting on a riding motorcycle on a road like transcentral. There was as much a chance of her being the only one getting shot as him. I bet the kid knew they were on route and cooked up the stupid scheme on their own.

I'm thinking that people in the know have access to more gun options here than in the USA. Here is an image from an illegal gun manufacturer right here in Cebu City. Notice how the gun has a silencer and what looks like a 30 round clip.
